The tamping foot is *not* enormous, contrary to another reviewer here. It's relative. If you use teeny tiny little bowls, then yes it may be a tight fit. But if you use any average sized bowl it's perfect. Anything in the .65" range and up. It fits smaller pipes than that, but I don't have anything with a bowl diameter more narrow than .65". No, it probably won't fit in an average kiseru, especially ones made in China, but it fits most briars very nicely. These are my most favorite tampers....Read More

Tamping base is enormous

I adore the bamboo variety, but for some strange reason the tamping head on this guy is enormous in comparison, and won't fit in many of my pipes- you know, anything that isn't absolutely giant. The look and make is wonderful, but I swear the tamper is twice as big as it should be.
