About This Pipe Tobacco

Peter Stokkebye's Virginia is a blend of quality flue-cured leaf from lighter-colored grades. The flavor is naturally sweet, with hay-like and citrus notes. Great on its own, it also makes a terrific blending component.

This is a good straight virginia. I smoke it by itself, all day. Price is good. Taste is good. I'll keep buying as long as they keep making.

This tobacco smokes dry and bland, so it's not a good idea to smoke it on its own. But this also makes it a good blending material. It won't interfere with other blending ingredients and will provide the hints of Virginias and also serve as a pH buffer. Tried it with Burley, DFK, Latakia, Oriental and Perique, all worked out fine....Read More

With the right companion components, PS701 is excellent. Three years ago I didn't like it much all by itself. I didn't even like it very much as a blending component, but recently I have been blending it with a bit of Stokkebye Black Latakia and some C2 Basma, and it's amazing. These three leafs do something quite magical in my blending bowl. If you've tried it before and didn't like it, pair it with something different, keep experimenting and you'll find something it really complements. My stock is three years old and excellent, but will soon be gone, so I've ordered another couple pounds. Very exciting stuff....Read More
