About Me:
As an avid pipe-smoker, I have a deep appreciation for the craftsmanship of a fine pipe and the complex character of a well-aged blend.

Rossi - Rubino Antico (8315) (6mm)
Classic Look
The 8315 has an elegant, long and slender profile for a sophisticated silhouette. It’s remarkably light and comfortable for long sessions. A 6mm filter helps tame moisture and bite, making it a very forgiving pipe for any experience level. The bowl is wide creating a larger surface area for the cherry allowing the tobacco to breathe and express its full flavor profile. The bowl came pre-caked but it took me about 5-6 bowls to establish a solid layer for the pipe to manage heat beautifully.

Carter Hall - Carter Hall 14oz
Swiss Army Knife Tobacco
Carter Hall is light, nutty, and remarkably consistent. It doesn't bite, and it doesn't require a chemistry degree to keep lit. It’s light enough to fade into the background. When you have a porch to sweep, a book to write, or a problem to solve, this blend stays out of the way and lets you focus. Beyond the flavor, its high Burley content and easy-burning cut allows as one of the best blends for building an even, sturdy carbon cake in a brand new pipe. On the other hand, if you’ve just finished a bowl of a heavy Latakia bomb or a soapy floral flake and want to reset the briar, Carter Hall acts as a "palate cleanser" for your pipe, lifting away lingering shadows of previous smokes. We live in an age of endless choices and sometimes, staring at a cellar full of tins feels like a chore. Carter Hall is the easy decision. You know exactly what you’re getting: a dependable, cocoa-forward, mellow experience that performs every single time!

Cornell & Diehl - Super Balkan
C&D’s Oldest Recipe for a Reason
I buy C&D Super Balkan 8 ounces at a time because I never want to be without it. It’s a masterclass in what a Balkan blend should be: smoky, sour, and slightly spicy. Unlike some Balkans that feel 'thin,' the addition of Burley here gives it a great body and a satisfying punch and because this blend has Perique and Virginia, it actually ages beautifully. If you can manage to tuck 2 ounces away and forget about it for six months, you’ll find the Latakia mellows out and the Virginias get even sweeter. It’s my go-to daily smoker, and honestly, the quality you get for the bulk price is unbeatable. I’m about to refill again… that should tell you everything you need to know.

Peterson - Junior Rusticated Nickel Mounted Lovat Fishtail
Pocket Friendly Engineering
I am blown away by the Peterson Junior Lovat. For a smaller pipe, it has a surprisingly deep chamber and I’m getting hour long smokes consistently. The rusticated finish is gorgeous and keeps the heat well-dispersed. It’s lightweight, looks sharp, and has quickly become my favorite 'out and about' pipe. Peterson nailed the proportions on this one!

Cleaners & Cleaning Supplies - B. J. Long Regular Pipe Cleaners (100 pack)
Simplest Tool in Your Kit
They are absorbent and get the pipe clean; however, be warned: they are very linty. I find myself having to blow out the pipe or pick stray fuzz off the bit after use. Despite the mess, they’re effective and I keep them in my kit because they simply work.

Prince Albert - Prince Albert 14oz
The Gold Standard of Burleys.
Whenever I’m staring at my cellar and don't know what to grab, the Prince is there to save the day. It’s reliable, has an earthy and nutty taste, ready to smoke, and has a room note that everyone loves. It’s a simple pleasure that never lets me down. If you haven't tried this classic, you're overthinking your hobby. My 2cents: If you enjoy Prince Albert, you might also find that it is one of the best "blenders" out there. If you have a tobacco that's too wet or bitey (like some aromatics), mixing in about 25% Prince Albert can settle the burn and add a nice nutty foundation!

Lane Limited - RLP-6
Tootsie Roll Treat
Picked up 4oz bulk from my brick and mortar. This tobacco is quite moist but the flavor payoff is worth it. It delivers a rich, nostalgic profile of vanilla and cocoa that tastes remarkably like a Tootsie Roll. It smokes surprisingly cool for an aromatic. While the room note starts sweet, it dissipates halfway through the bowl. Be careful with drying time; too much air and you’ll lose those top notes. You likely won’t smoke this down to a fine white ash due to the casing, but the flavor remains consistent through the bowl. This has earned a spot in my evening rotation. It’s my go-to for winding down and chatting with my wife.

Peterson - Early Morning Pipe 50g
Aged Into Smoothness
EMP becomes exceptional with age. The aging process marries the Virginias and Orientals, removing any bite and resulting in an effortless, smooth smoke. The Latakia has mellowed into a velvety sweetness, and the Orientals have lost their sharp edge, leaving a flavor that is incredibly smooth and refined. It’s not a flavor explosion; it’s a gentle smoke. Currently enjoying a bowl in the quiet morning air, consistent, cool-burning, and highly recommended for those who want flavor without the heavy kick of a Nightcap.

Stands & Pouches - Leather Deluxe Roll Up Pipe Pouch Tan
Minimalist Setup & Zero-Maintenance
I’ve used this leather pouch for three years now, and it’s the ideal solution for my everyday carry. It has softened up beautifully over time, losing its initial stiffness while remaining incredibly durable. Although it’s a smaller pouch, it’s designed for portability. It isn't built for large, oversized pipes, but it’s a perfect fit for smaller pipes or military mounts. It’s compact enough to slide easily into a jacket pocket without being bulky or intrusive. Even with years of daily use and being tucked into pockets and bags, the leather and stitching show no signs of quitting. It carries exactly what I need for a day out: one pipe, a fresh supply of tobacco, tamper, lighter and pipe cleaners. This is a fantastic investment if you prefer a smaller kit and appreciate leather that doesn’t require maintenance.

Cornell & Diehl - Briar Fox 2oz
Natural Smoke
I went into this thinking Briar Fox might be overrated, but I’m happy I was wrong. My first experience was with the bulk version, which smoked great immediately without needing to age. It certainly rewards time in the cellar though. It’s a stout, earthy, flavorful smoke. I’ve since bought BF cake and it’s excellent! I don't over-crumble or fluff it when I cellar. I’ve learned that keeping the cut intact preserves the flavor. Give it 5–10 minutes of air before packing a bowl, and you’ll get that perfect Virginia and Burley harmony every time!

Cornell & Diehl - We Three Kings 2oz
Christmas Tradition
What makes this aromatic truly stand out are the vibrant notes of cinnamon and vanilla that greet you the moment you open a fresh tin. While it arrives quite moist, it dries out relatively quickly. The taste dulls out but still smokes beautifully. Now in my third year of making this my primary December smoke, it has become a true holiday staple. It’s an integral part of my family’s Advent celebrations, and a scent that will always be tied to my favorite seasonal memories. It’s reached that special status where the scent is the comforting fragrance of Dad during Christmas.

Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Morning Flake 2oz
Power House Morning Blend
An outstanding smoke to start the morning. The Perique is the undisputed star of this blend, providing a bold, spicy profile right from the first light. Be warned though, as it packs a punch, so you’ll definitely want a full stomach before lighting up. While it benefits beautifully from some age, keep an eye on your storage because it tends to dry out faster than most.

Cornell & Diehl - Haunted Bookshop
Ghost Note
Whether fresh or aged, this blend remains an enigma. It hasn't quite hit my favorites list, yet I’ve already burned through three tins and just placed another order. There is a certain hollowness to the profile, as if a specific flavor is missing, but it’s exactly that ghost note that keeps me coming back. I’m haunted by a mystery I haven't yet solved, and I can't stop smoking it until I do!

Cornell & Diehl - Da Vinci 2oz
Ages well
It can be a rough start when fresh, but with some age, Da Vinci really shines. It offers a bold, campfire tin note and a heavy, full-bodied, smoky room note that I’ve come to love during my nightly post-dinner walks. If you think you don't like Latakia, let this blend change your mind. It certainly did for me.

Cornell & Diehl - Autumn Evening
Cold weather blend
As soon as the temperature drops and the air turns crisp, this is the first blend I reach for. The maple flavor is masterfully done and present during the smoke with a lingering, pleasant aftertaste that practically begs you to pack a second bowl! It strikes a perfect balance without being overly sweet, and it develops a wonderful depth with aging. This is easily my top rated aromatic. Highly recommended to new and veteran pipers.

Cornell & Diehl - New Market
Refreshing smoke
This blend was a pleasant surprise. While not a traditional aromatic, the Deer Tongue provides a natural, herbal sweetness that accents the tobacco perfectly. The retrohale is incredibly refreshing, and the smoke is smooth enough for all day enjoyment. It leaves behind a unique, incense-like room note that is quite pleasant. I’ve already committed to 4 ounces for my daily rotation and tucked 2 ounces away to see how it ages.

Missouri Meerschaum - Diplomat Apple Straight (6mm)
Great starter pipe
I enjoy my corn cob. I use it in the summer in the garden for a cooler smoke, and when I turn to my aromatics. I recommend everyone have one. The stem on this model is a tad bit too long for my liking, the bowl is heavier when loaded. The stem is thinner and marks up easily but makes for a good clench. Smokes very well,

Old German Clay - Basic Briar Petite Paneled Bulldog with Horn Stem
Lightweight EDC
Beautiful briar pipe with soft horn stem. Very light and great for a quick smoke. I take this with me when I go to my local brick and mortar store to try out new blends. A small bowl last 15-20 minutes. It’s not pre-lined with carbon/cake so you have to break in the pipe. After 5 smokes, it’s perfect.
