Smoky,woodsy,burnt dark cocoa,nutty,medicinal herbs tin notes. Perfect moisture content out of the tin.Rubs easily,easy to pack,lit & burns easily upon the initial light and goes slow and consistent throughout the bowl. The DFK and Izmir Turkish taking the lead with a combo of woody,smoky mesquite,meaty barbeque,nutty,dark chocolaty,sparkling peppery herbal spice,floral and balanced tanginess fused by the unique hint of Samsun leafs.On the 2nd quarter of the bowl The Reds starts to induce the toasted bready,grassy,earthy,malty,dried,dark fruity balanced zest and sweetness synchronizing with the opening flavors wonderfully!The perfectly aged components plays their role excellently as the fascinating layer after layers complex tastes and nuances!Medium vitamin N,cool thick smokes and smooth sailing without any harshness.A bit fresh minty taste on French inhale too!Nothing is short of amazing here!It’s The Phoenix in all of it’s glory!💯🔥🔥🔥 And I am ordering more!Hahahaha!

Hoodoo Ridge..this one comes quite moist out of the tin and I let it dry for about 20 minutes.Intriguing tin notes that for sure promised a great smoking adventure. A complex blend with notes of zesty citrus,dark stone fruits,smoky,dark woody,toasted bread,baking spice with floral touches and peppery goodness. This one is a sipper of course and how the layers of tastes complementing each other throughout every puff is exceptionally interesting. Very much recommended!!!

The first quarter of the bowl offers a kick start of a deep woody,mesquite,smokey beefy treat driven by the balanced portion of the Latakia. Follows to the first half,the subtle VA sweetness begins to emerge with slight grassy tanginess combines with the darker,light peppery and floral undertones from the DFK and Orientals. And all the notes interplays in a wonderful complexities throughout the end of the bowl with smooth and thick smokes.Very smokeable right out of the jar,with perfect amount of moisture,easy to prepare and it burns slow,cool,very consistent with minimal relights. The tin notes consists of baking chocolate,dried dark fruity sweetness,woody,grassy,yeasty,oaty,bready and hint baking spice.Despite the quite high moisture content,rest assured,this blend is very smokeable right out of the tin,burns cool and consistent throughout the bowl.The dry,grassy,figgy,nutty,bready,smoky,woody,slightly sweet,hint of cocoa,slight of spice tingle in retrohale was very inviting and different in a great way!Very smooth and comforting smokes!Medium to full flavor,medium bodied with mild to medium nicotine content simply put this one as one of my all day smoke!The harmonized character between each components truly shines and very unique!What a great first experience in my journey of exploring more of the HU’s offerings!Makhuwa,yes,I do recommend!!!

Despite a generous portion of Latakia,for me this is a perfectly balanced non pretentious,non complex blend. Deep,rich,dark,smoky,creamy,salty,punchy Latakia with an earthy,sweet,zesty and tangy,sour,dark fruit sweetness with hint of spice from the Virginia,Orientals and Cavendish throughout the bowl.Sip it slow you will get a thick,robust and creamy mouthfeel,retrohale it for a wonderful hint of spice,French inhale it to indulge the dark sweet floral notes..oh,just love it! It is smooth,full flavored,full bodied,no rough edges,no harshness,just pure delightful smokes! On the nicotine side,it is mild to medium scale as I am quite a nicotine tolerance person. A Very Interesting Magnum Opus!
An Oriental forward varietals blend with floral,sweet and herbal top note. The tin comes with a perfect moisture content.Lights easily with few relights throughout the bowl. Medium bodied,medium flavor with a balanced tastes of floral,herbal vegetation,smoky,slightly sweet,dark,spicy and subtle tangy from the Orientals,Perique and Virginia.Non of the components are overpowering.The Latakia is supporting in the background. I let it rest in the jar and tried it again after few months,some creamy and more pronounced sweetness emerged. Compares to Cerberus where the Latakia is more in the middle note and tad bit darker and thicker mouthfeel of smokes but they are quite a sister blend to me.Very nice and indeed better with age!

Right off the bat I get the rich bready,dark,fruity sweetness,grassy,woody,earthy,unique malty,spice,tangy,orange peels type of zestiness,fermented vinegary taste and floral aroma interplays with a very mouth filling and creamy smokes as the bowl progresses.Medium bodied yet very rich in flavor.Very nice on retrohale and French inhale too.No tongue bite,no rough edges,mild to medium nicotine content. This is nothing short of amazing,the tin note,the toppings,the natural tastes of the tobaccos are all in a perfect harmony!Great aroma,great tastes!This is for sure not a spooky goopy aromatics!Thick mouth filling smoke of sweet,creamy,chocolaty,dark,earthy,smoky with the caramelized candy corn taste,love it! The Krumble Kake comes with a perfect moisture level,easy the break,rubs easily,easy to light,burns cool,smooth and consistent at moderate pace throughout the bowl. The tin presentations of this small batch by KOPP was for sure very eye catching,beautiful and very artistic! Upon opening,the tin note was absolutely amazing,the tonka bean toffee and Danish aromatic toppings giving a beautiful marbling creamy nutty sweetness with a delicious hint of Sweet Mung Beans Porridge with brown sugar or “Gula Melaka”.Beautiful ribbon cut with 10-15 minutes of drying time and it’s good to go! Taking the flame easily with a slow burning character and very minimal relights.This is an example of a good aromatics where the casings sings beautifully with the natural tastes of the quality tobaccos.The smoky grassy sweetness ,slight tangy and zesty from the virginias are evident,backed by the mellow creaminess of the cavendish harmonizing with the caramelized bittersweet dessert aroma.Smooth,burns cool throughout the bowl,no bites and no goopy residues!Low to medium nicotine content. A very nice treat when you need for a good change of pace!It is stormy,but in a very good way!Hahaha!!

This is an incredible burley flake.A bit moist but can be enjoyed straight out of the tin or 10-15 minutes of drying time depends to personal preference.The tin note was smoky,nutty,dark,caramel,hint of pop corn and chocolaty aroma. Easy to rub or cube cut the flakes for a denser taste and smokes,depends on personal preferences,packs well and taking the flame easily with minimal relights. Bold,smoky,nutty,creamy,slightly sweet, dark chocolate, molasses, brown sugar and very smooth cool smokes with medium nicotine boost. An all day fantastic smokes to me and definitely superb with age. Highly recommended!

Opened one of the newly arrived fresh tins of Sun Bear Black Locust today. The tin note is very pleasant sweet,floral,woody,slight hint of mint,earthy,tart & herbal vegetation. The flake itself comes with a perfect moisture content,easy to rub,easy to pack and taking the flame easily with a very slow,cool smokes and very consistent burning character throughout the bowl with very minimum relights. The Orientals was very evident with herb,floral,earthy,vegetation,bitter zesty and creamy qualities.The Virginias offering the grassy,dark,tangy,bready,spice and caramelized sweetness.The added topping of Black Locust honey,silver tequila and elderflower perfectly complementing with a sweet,tart,fruity and unique refreshing floral hint.Very consistent medium to full flavor with beautiful aroma,balanced,complex and lovely nuances. Burns clean to the bottom of the bowl with very little dampness. I am high tolerance to nicotine,so I might say is quite low..but maybe the actual profile is quite a step above medium. A coarse ribbon cut blend of Latakia,VA,Turkish Orientals,DFK and a pinch of Perique.Perfect moisture out of the tin with dark,musty,woody aroma.. nice and balanced taste of dark,smoky,woody,campfire,tangy,dark fruits,sweet,incense,hint of floral and creaminess with nice complexity throughout the bowl.The Latakia & Orientals are prominent but still the VA & DFK plays good roles in this blend with nice hint of spice from the Perique.Quite smooth,burns cool with few relights and no bite at all.Medium bodied,full of flavors with nice medium nicotine content.Very nice tin art too. My tin come with a little extra moisture.I let it dry for about 20-30 minutes which I found perfect for a cool and steady burning throughout the bowl. The tin note was very smoky,earthy,woody,campfire with a hint of caramelized sweet aroma.A coarse cut blend with nice contrast of Virginia,Oriental and quite a dense cut of Latakia. Taking the flame easily with very few relights. Smooth and mild smokes yet very Latakia forward with very nice slight sweetness and floral essence from the Virginia and Oriental.A solid consistent smokes! Very enjoyable all day and every day smokes! Low nicotine level to me.Father Dempsey simply exceeds my expectation and truly one of the very best English blends! Magical Casbah!
“Casbah” A new blend and addition from Drucquer & Sons that is well worth your money!A Balkan blend featuring a beautiful presentation of Orientals balanced by quality Virginia and Latakia, perfected in an easy-to-prepare dark brownish Crumble Cake, full of a mouth-watering aroma, smoky,dark,sweet,tangy,salty, creamy and toasty with just the right amount of moisture. Easy to light with a slow, unpretentious burn. I find it performs best in a larger diameter bowl, cool smoke, soft, creamy, nutty, sweet fruity, herbal aromas from the Oriental and Virginia play cheerfully with the Latakia without overshadowing each other. Complex full of flavor and nuances, the nicotine levels for me are low to moderate.Now it has become one of my favorites and definitely highly recommended!Thank you so much Gregory Pease..you are the best!

Cornell & Diehl - Black Duck 2oz
An elegant Black Duck!
The picture of the smoking black duck really caught my attention. It seems that Daffy Duck has not appeared for a long time, apparently he is actively into pipe smoking..hehehe!! An English mixture with a solid presentation of dark, smoky,musty, leathery, with a perfect note of spice and sweetness. The character of each component plays cheerfully smooth and nuanced throughout the bowl.The added burley and cavendish really giving the right amount of kick.One of the Cornell & Diehl blends that presents a very satisfying smoking experience. In addition to swimming, diving and flying, it turns out that the Black Duck is very good at pipe smoking and choosing his favorite tobacco! Very well done and simply recommended!

Peterson - Elizabethan Mixture 50g
Quintessential VaPer!
This has been a staple tobacco blend in my rotation for years from the Dunhill era until Peterson's revival. A very manageable ribbon cut of tobacco, easy to light and so easy to enjoy! Pleasant Virginia and Perique aromas from the tin and a smoke quality that's perfect to enjoy throughout days with a light amount of nicotine for me, I have a high nicotine tolerance and this may vary from individual to individual. Elizabethan is the perfect blend for those who want to get to know Virginia Perique.Tangy,bready,dark,hay,slightly nutty,raisiny sweetness and spice.Definitely better with age,yet just very enjoyable right out of fresh tin.You will not be disappointed with Elizabethan.

Gregory Pease proves his superiority with Blairgowrie! Absolutely perfect, with a smooth,creamy caramelized sweetness,cool and full-bodied smoke quality that is perfectly balanced. A cut of tobacco that is easy to deal with perfect moisture content and easy to light,slow burning,well behaved with minimal relights rates. The blend is full of nuance in every puff. Every component is orchestrated with full of joy and balance. Very tasty! It gives us an experience to recall,enjoy and appreciate the beauty of the past!10 out of 5 stars!

Cornell & Diehl - Steamworks 2oz
EXCELLENT STEAMWORKS!
Upon opening,the tin note bursting with aroma of dark woody,raisiny,bright,tangy sweetness,kinda malty chocolaty vanilla,beautiful spicy floral essence too..the steaming process really brings the aged like quality to the blend. The flakes my tin was in a perfect moisture content,very easy to rub,easy to pack and burns cool with very few relights.Smoke the first bowl with no drying time was very easy going,cool,perfect slow burning with white ashes to the bottom of the chamber. Each components in this blend to my opinion are in great balance and just love the wonderful interplay. Grassy,woody,dark,hay,bready,floral,very right amount of spicy zingy sweetness with thick billowing flavorful smokes.Love it! The second bowl I let it dry for 3 minutes,the sweet and even deeper notes really shines throughout the bowl..really love the complexity and nuances. Definitely a superior blend for aging.Thank you so much Jeremy! You really did an excellent touch on this Steamworks!

The Real Good Dawg!!!
This is one of my favourite all day smoke!Ruggedly smokey,dark,leathery,nutty,slightly creamy and just right little amount of sweet finish.The fantastic interplay between each components were unique and very enjoyable!And of course..very nice tin art too!! D : Delectable A : Amazing W : Wonderful G : Go For It!!!
