BR'ER RABBID

Savinelli - 150th Anniversary Capri (673 KS)
Warped Stems
Since Smoking Pipes broke precedent by deciding to not take individual pictures of each pipe offered in Savinelli's 150th Ann. Capri series, two Capri 673s were purchased to compare the quality and variances between each pipe. One thing is for certain, both stems on each pipe received are warped. The stem button on each pipe is counter-clocked/off-center, with one of the stems being ribbed on the underside of the bend. With respect to the briar and Capri finish itself; the Briar is what you would expect from Savinelli (traditional shaping/drilling), and the Capri finish is patterned differently on each pipe and bit chunckier from those produced in the 50s to late 70s. Not exactly the same tactile feel, but lends a nice esthetic change overall.

Lighters - Peterson Pipe Lighter - Silver Stripe
Exquisite!
The Peterson Silver Stripe "Old Boy" style lighter is worth the cost. It is crafted beautifully with it's - not too deep - pin stripes grooves and it's sleek silver appearance. The lighter works every single time you strike the flint wheel; not to fail to mention it's butane capacity. Whether a pipe smoker or simple collector of fine lighters, the Peterson Silver Stripe pipe lighter is a must-have. I am completely satisfied with my purchase and might even consider purchasing another, just because.
