Rattray's - Hal O' The Wynd 100g
A true favorite
This is one of my all time favorite tobaccos. I'd love to smoke it daily but I choose to save it for times when I really want a good smoke I can sit with and enjoy.
Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - Evening Flake
After a year of age I think its time to buy more
I purchased a lb a year or so ago. I tried it. Liked it. But was leaning more towards ps400 which i also bought a lb of and have been smoking ever since. Well I came back to this a year later and think I need to start putting some more away. Good quality leaf, similar to ps400 but a little deeper and a bit more spice. Really nice smoke. Definitely earns it's place in the cellar
Cornell & Diehl - Sansepolcro 2oz
Another small batch, another winner
I got to say, hats off to c/d. I really enjoy the small batches they put out and have yet to have one that wasn't interesting and blended beautfully.. this one is no different. I decided to get it after seeing it listed clovelike spice in the description, ive seen clove being listed on a few other blends but always felt disappointed by the blending and always found them to be lacking in some way. Not so for this one, from the blending, to the quality of the leaf, packaging, not to mention the price, it's a real winner. The tin note is fairly subtle which is a change from the usual punch to the face most blends give you when opening a new tin, hints of tobacco and spice, but have no fear the flavor is all there. What i like about it is it really embraces the bitterness of the warming spice flavors with just enough underlying sweetness to make it pleasant. A real hard line to walk but for my palette it does it well. Clove is probably the most appropriate description but had I not read that I probably would have described it as somewhere inbetween All Spice and nutmeg, but clove fits just as well. Whatever you call it I thoroughly enjoyed it. Suggest you grab 1 or 3 while they last!
Tabac de la Semois - Reserve du Patron 3.5oz
Something special
Honestly I am blown away. Very contemplative smoke with a flavor profile unlike anything else. Sweet, musty cigar-esk notes with a light taste of bitter cocoa and hay. Then an intense roasted, nutty, buttery flavor on the exhale. Smoking it is a real pleasure
G. L. Pease - Regents Flake 2oz
Toast with grape jelly
This turned out to be a very interesting blend. Tin note it full of fruit, some fig and mostly grape. As I smoke it I can't help but picture a thick slice of toast slathered in a smear of grape jelly. Some slight perfume notes round out the flavor and a minor pepper hit to the tongue is keeping me interested. All I can say is its a great smoke for reasons i didnt expect. Really made me realize I had a complete misunderstanding of what oriental leaf brings to a blend. Can't wait to see how the rest of the tin smokes
Sutliff - Tobacco Galleria: Fox & Hound
This tobacco was a great find
Exactly what you want in a bulk tobacco. It has good flavor and really punches above its weightclass when you compare its price to a lot of others. It is a lighter, milder english but still full. I've reached for it a lot recently
Cleaners & Cleaning Supplies - White Elephant Pipe Cleaners - Regular (100 Pack)
Worth it
At first I wasn't sure if they were worth twice the price. But then I decided I would use the entire package, then go back to the cheaper ones and see if the difference was really that noticeable. Well after doing that I can confidently say that these are worth the mark up. The others bend very easily where these do not. They also don't shed much if any lint. You wouldn't think having a quality pipe cleaner would improve your smoke but it definitely does imo
