Smooth Belge with Silver and Warthog Tusk (0801) Tobacco Pipe

Thinner than pencil thin, an element Pastuch may have perfected while working with Tom Eltang, this elegant shank emerges from a low transition and extends to a silver band followed by a light, thin band of warthog tusk. It pairs perfectly with the coloring of the stummel — a deep reddish mahogany with a contrast treatment that makes the grain pop with large swirls of birdseye on the flanks. Perhaps the most noticeable design element, however, is the shape and orientation of the bowl. Somewhat aggressive of cant, and rounded in a more organic sensibility than is customary, it provides an aesthetic of roundness without being overbearing about it. It's easy in the hand and weighs almost nothing, so if light pipes are a feature you enjoy, you might consider this one.
