About This Pipe
Known for his creative, eclectic designs, Werner Mummert has fashioned here his signature reverse Calabash Poker. It's quite a testament to the German Carver's skill and innovative reckoning that he's able to come up with these unique, highly functional pieces. The bowl is sturdy and stout, with a subtle taper toward the rim from a flattened heel. It's dressed in a ruddy sandblast that provides plenty of textural and visual appeal, with some handsome growth rings on full display. The shank is composed of clear, tempered glass that functions as a reverse Calabash, sending swirls of dried, cooler smoke wafting through from end to end. Naturally, there's no flavor associated with the glass, so it prompts flavor-neutral smoking. Like a stretched-out, miniature Slinky, the metal springs brace the glass and connect the bowl to a cap-like piece of briar that's of the same coloration. A jet-black, abbreviated saddle stem wraps things up in this one-of-a-kind design that's notable for its steampunk aesthetic.
