About This Pipe
Well, Tao Nielsen doesn't fashion shapes as gracefully slender as this very often, nor has he historically presented us with many Rhodesians over the years, despite his penchant for the Bulldog shape. Nonetheless, this one does exhibit the strong compactness that typifies the carver's style, while foregoing the bold muscularity we're used to seeing in his pieces. It's still quite sturdy of course, offering quite a bit of substance in hand. With its forward-gesturing bowl sporting high-set beadlines embracing a rounded rim of perfectly-framed birdseye, not to mention a good bit of well-defined flame, a broad sterling silver band and Tao's characteristic stepped saddle stem, it's undeniably charming, and like all of the carver's pipes, made to last.
