About This Pipe
Following in the footsteps of his father Benni Jørgensen, Lasse Skovgaard has spent most of his life immersed in the pipe industry. In addition to learning from his father, Skovgaard was also coached by prestigious artisans such as W.Ø. Larsen and Teddy Knudsen. A unique and whimsical silhouette, the Mushroom is a shape often seen from Skovgaard, with this particular offering displaying a Calabash-like profile. Informed by soft line work along the bowl's underside, a pointed heel sweeps to the right, giving the fore an organic and tilted look. The tall walls of the bowl rise from said heel as they fan out toward the cap-like rim, domed to the chamber opening. With a chamber over two inches deep, this pipe is a great option for those seeking long and leisurely smoking sessions. A mid-set transition begins the aft's bend to the bit as it meets an accent of Ivorite at the junction and the shoulders of a vulcanite saddle stem out back. The walnut-stained stummel is finished smooth to highlight impeccable flame grain around the flanks of the bowl and dense patches of birdseye on the broad rim.
