About This Pipe
A distinctive Freehand from Lasse Skovgaard, this smooth piece offers loads of character and creativity in its shaping. A broad, forward curvature sweeps down the far flank and under the transition, terminating in an open triangular element that balances the wide dome of the rim with smaller proportions at the other end in eye-catching interest. The shank rises upward and expands into the base of the stem, which itself trails languidly in a counterbalancing downward turn. Elegant and wide curves at the transition provide ample opportunity for resting one's fingers, and the feel in hand is intuitive and remarkably comfortable. The grain is illuminated by Lasse's contrast stain, here in a darker, mahogany hue, combining with the creative aspects of this pipe at every juncture for a smoking instrument that will commend itself in any collection.
