About This Pipe
I'm not sure exactly where the line is for Lasse, for the Lion grade. By this I mean I've seen some really, really beautiful briars, fine of form and simply bursting with grain from this artisan, that didn't make the cut. I'm going to hazard a guess and say it's just in the eye of the artisan - the individual who ushered the design and the briar from raw beginning to polished, perfect finish, along the way getting to know the whole thing down to every square millimeter. In other words, Lasse is seeing things it might well take years of simple ownership to notice.
This Acorn? Perfection. At least, that's what I would say according to the time I've spent turning it over in hand, and getting right up close under the direct light of my desk lamp. More importantly, Lasse thought it something special even by his standards, and with his far more intimate knowledge of its every surface and line.
