About This Pipe
Broad and low, this is the Dublin as envisioned by Scottie Piersel, with a softly-rounded rim and plenty of breadth to bowl and chamber alike. Paired to one of her sleek pencil shanks, it takes on a feel that combines elements of the Danish school, with its minimalist shaping and focus on grain, as well as a sense of American modernism, its lines streamlined and arrow-straight to create an unparalleled dynamism in profile. While it might look delicate, she's taken care to ensure that the shank can stand up to the task, lining it with stainless steel to reinforce the careful drilling. And that display of grain is quite obvious, finished as it is in one of her crisp sandblasts and warm stains, which pairs perfectly to the lighter, cooler shade of blue used at the stem.
