About This Pipe
While oval shanks are usually associated with the Canadian or Lumberman, this Billiard from Scott Klein uses it to great effect. A trim little pipe, measuring less than five inches from end to end, its low-slung shank and tapered stem gives the impression that the bowl is much taller, and nods to the fact that the chamber within is surprisingly capacious. Perhaps more impressive, this diminuitive piece has been deeply sandblasted to reveal crisp, concentric growth rings on the bowl's surface, providing not only texture in hand, but a stunning, classic display, particularly when paired with a cumberland mouthpiece. Excellent work all around.
