Smooth Bent Brandy with Horn Tobacco Pipe

It's no secret that Scott Klein has a penchant for using horn in his compositions. From Standing Figs to Japanese Blowfish, it's actually become something of a signature for Scott to imbue the natural medium's charm to a variety of shapes through the use of upward-flicking horn ferrules, yet always in a way that complements, rather than distracts from the design. This bent Brandy is an excellent example of that style, featuring an elongated, upward-arcing horn ferrule making up most of the shank, and a broad, low-set waistline that emphasizes that gesture, extending those sweeping lines through to the fore of the bowl, with the heel lifting ever so slightly. Tying it all together is a smooth teardrop ridge lining the left flank from the base of the horn all the way to the transition, where it meets flush with the aforementioned waistline. The result is a beautifully fluid take on the classic shape, subtly organic and dynamic all at once.
