About This Pipe
From the precise, sweeping curve at the underside, to the forward-ebbing, soft-lined bowl and gentle kiss of plateau at the rim, to the domed-base saddle-stem and honey-blonde boxwood at the shank's end, this Acorn from Pete Prevost is an excellent example of Danish-inspired shaping in a substantial, hearty form. In profile, it calls to mind the look of Nanna Ivarsson's Acorn shapes, as well as those she designed for Stanwell. The contrast stain at play highlights a lively spread of flame cascading across the briar's surface, with the aforementioned boxwood making for a splendid complement to it all.
