About This Pipe

Pete Provost serves as Executive VP and Director of Production at BriarWorks International, which includes overseeing all stages of production under the Icarus, Neptune, and BriarWorks marques. In addition to that, he also creates quality, handmade briars under his own name. His eclectic offerings seem to be inspired by the Danish tradition as well as some clear influences from the realm of firmer, "Industrial" shaping.

Pete is certainly no stranger to evocative renditions, and this Cherrywood offering, sort of an abbreviated version of his Long Shank Sitter, is rife with the organic dynamism and easy jauntiness we've come to expect from the artisan. Danish curve shines forth with the dramatic cant taken on by the sandblasted bowl structure, especially apparent when sitting, while the sleek, smooth lines of the shank provide a lovely balance to the striking bowl's focal point. A horn accent adds a lighter touch to the composition, contrasting the warm, earthy color of the briar's stain.
