About This Pipe
A whimsical pipe from the workshop of Mike Sebastian Bay, this smooth Poker features an angular disposition. In fact, it looks somewhat like the melding of two different pipes, one with the traditional and straight approach of the lower section, and the other more playful, tall, and forward inclined at the upper portion. That bend is the defining characteristic of this shape, though the bowl remains cylindrical as it rises tall from its firm, flat heel. It's surprisingly comfortable in hand, that forward pitch of the bowl conforming nicely to the fingers and palm. The shank is thin, pencil-like, and cylindrical itself in conformity to the disposition of the bowl, while the mouthpiece features a single expansion ring to interrupt the visual flow. Cross-grain orientation provides both birdseye along the left and right flanks and horizontal grain fore and aft, and it's all offered in a traditional stain to offset the bowl's humorous angularity.
