About This Pipe

Micah Redmond's usual offerings tend to prioritize compact lengths and chubby proportions, making this lengthy and muscular Billiard something of an outlier within his portfolio. It's also a rarity for the American artisan to craft a pipe so aligned with traditional Anglo-French characteristics, as he typically fashions pipes with gestural silhouettes, which is clearly not the case with this more straightforward design. Tall and stout, the bowl here houses over two inches of chamber within its brawny frame, ensuring plenty of long, leisurely smoking sessions. Additionally, said bowl displays a Danish-like taper, with its wide heel slowing narrowing into the tauter rim. A sturdy shank-and-stem arrangement brings up the rear and provides balance to the composition, while lending the shape a certain sleekness in profile. A dark sandblast dresses the stummel and highlights some compelling birdseye across the bowl's flanks, while a saddle stem of burnt-orange Bakelite tops everything off and adds a pop of color to the pipe's otherwise reserved palette.
