About This Pipe
Many of Micah's other Egg renditions hew closely to the Danish school with graceful curves and supple bowls. This Nosewarmer, however, is not one of those pieces. Rather, the American carver has maintained a Danish-inspired lifting heel but fashioned it beneath a more upright, streamlined bowl. Said bowl features a deep chamber, fully filling the palm, and is married to an equally robust, abbreviated shank. Micah's rounded style of saddle-stem does well to match with the bowl's profile, lending the piece some overall balance, while the visual texture and color of the cumberland do well to contrast against the stummel's dark stain and sandblast.
