About This Pipe
As perfect an execution as I've seen, this Blowfish from Jody Davis reveals precise paneling along the upper shank and lower, and through the heel up to the far edge of the rim. The panel is replicated on the near flank as well, while the left and right sides dome outward in customary Blowfish form. An abbreviated stem base highlights the flat aspect of the saddle stem and redirects the eye to the stummel.
It's asymmetrical, with the right side larger than the left and textured with subtle plateau. The bowl meets the shank at a tight transition defining the near square aspect of that shank, which curls upward to meet the mouthpiece in a smooth and gradual arc, contributing to the fine balance that this piece possesses.
