About This Pipe
Jason Mouton's background in woodworking is what led him to eventually become part of the pipe industry. Based in Louisiana, Mouton pulls inspiration from various schools of design, with a portfolio full of American influences, including this Opera. Historically, Opera pipes were compact enough to fit into pockets while the smoker enjoyed the theater, lending them their namesake. Approaching Nosewarmer proportions, this pipe would be a great travel companion and a solid option for on-the-go smoking. A more organically inspired rendition of the shape, this Opera is accented with two knuckles of bamboo along its midsection, connecting the classically inclined bowl to a petite saddle stem cut from black vulcanite. The ebony hue of the mouthpiece juxtaposes the light coloration along the bamboo and honey-hued stummel, where lovely patches of birdseye immediately draw the eye to the left and right flanks of the bowl.
