Sandblasted Morta Rhodesian (B) Tobacco Pipe

An oval-shanked rendition of his signature Bulldog form, this Rhodesian from Max Rimensi of Il Duca is as serpentine and attractive as ever. Per the Italian artisan's convention, it's fashioned from dense, jet-black-stained morta and paired to a warm-hued, cumberland stem for just the right amount of subtle color contrast. Shape-wise, the curling shank and stem flow and flare into the tucked transition, the broad shank lending the form an Eskimo-like stance when viewed from above. The bowl, then, is dramatically tapered above the waist's crisp ridgeline. If you're looking to add an Il Duca piece to your collection, this signature shape is the place to start, and if you're hoping to expand upon a collection of several of Rimensi's smokers, this Rhodesian rendition is less often seen than his Bulldogs, making this rarer offering certainly more collectible.
