The rim is wide and undulating with gnarly and deeply textured plateau, matched by the plateau of the end of the shank to further contribute to the theme of echoing elements.

The sandblast is dark with an undercoat of ruby for visual depth to match that of the textural rings surrounding the bowl, while the stem features an offset expansion ring at an acute upward angle for a comfortable smoking posture and contributing to the "U"-shape that dramatizes this collector piece in profile.
