About This Pipe

Among the most talented artisans in the world, respected by collectors and other carvers alike, Jess Chonowitsch boasts an illustrious pedigree revealed across decades of artisan pipe making and a portfolio revered for artfully classic shapes, superlative engineering, and stunning finishes. He was among Sixten Ivarsson's direct students alongside Jørn Micke, Bo Nordh, and Sixten's son Lars, and Chonowitsch pipes represent Danish artisan pipe making at its finest.

This bent Dublin further elevates Jess' reputation, and it caters to his elegantly simple style. Similar to his signature bent Brandy rendition, this piece houses robust proportions in Nosewarmer dimensions and a forward-urging profile. The sleek saddle stem initiates this dynamism with a subtle downward turn that's balanced by the oval shank's slight arc and finally realized in the bowl's forward cant. Said bowl is squat and muscular, its robust insulating walls offering a substantial in-hand presence, and best of all, it highlights superior grain patterns: Flame and straight grain wrap the bowl's entirety while the broad rim offers maximum surface area to canvas pinpricks of birdseye. A superior piece from one of the world's superior artisans, this is a pipe to elevate any collection of handmade smoking instruments.
