About This Pipe

Fluidity and posture are important factors in Benni Jørgensen's craftsmanship, as is easily recognized in this flowing bent Billiard-ish Freehand, which is Swan-graded and celebrates Benni's 40th year as a pipe maker. Most noticeable is the stylistic "wing" extending from the forward bowl and flanks, contributing to the implied forward momentum of the pipe while also providing multiple comfortable opportunities for holding it in hand. Additionally, the end of the shank flares dramatically into a wide, domed, smooth and well-grained end for the push-style stem to attach. The sandblast is medium deep, beautifully oriented and consistent, while the scalloped rim is smooth to echo the smooth briar at the end of the shank. While a Freehand, it's a pipe that hews closely to the traditional and maintains reserved stylistic flourishes, perfect for those who prefer dramatic Freehand elements but in a more traditional style. This pipe is marked by Benni's 40th-Anniversary in pipe making, 25 years at W.Ø. Larsen and 15 making pipes under his own name, and is additionally stamped with his heralded Swan grade — denoting exceptional quality.
