About This Pipe

If you'd heard that Federico had been working with his father during the last few years, and wondered what the next generation of Becker would look like, you're looking at it right now. The delicate proportions, the easy flow, the neat posture of bowl; these are all things we would have expected from the late Paolo. Yet, this shape was not a Paolo shape. At least, I can't find it anywhere in our archives. Similar ones, yes, in that there were previously Becker pipes that shared one element or another, but this specific combination is all Federico's: the gesture of shank and stem of Paolo's circa-2008 bent Apples (though they were long-shanked and saddle-stemmed) and the proportions of the pencil-shanked straight shapes Paolo introduced in the mid-2000s, blended with a particular cant, stance, and form of bowl I frankly couldn't find on any Paolo-made Apple. The Becker name continues in good hands from what I'm seeing, and so too evidently does the continued Becker design evolution.
