About This Pipe
One of Paolo's more dashing numbers, in the sense of being one of his most overtly dynamic shape-themes, here we find a bent Dublin of tall proportions, confident lines, and very forward stance. Though I could hardly say there was a Becker shape of today that Paolo hasn't rendered in morta, strawberry wood, and briar alike, this one, I think, is particularly well-suited to the second medium, with its quick style complemented by this specific material's notable lightness, and the deeper, wilder grain it produces in a sandblast, likewise.
