Sandblasted Morta Bent Pot Tobacco Pipe

With clear inspiration from Castello's famous "55" bent Pot, this piece from Chris Askwith modifies the popular shape with a very high transition, a wider, more prominent bowl and a polyester mouthpiece of butterscotch and cream hues that are primarily striated along the axis of the shank to resonate with the grain of the block. The geometric precision of the grain in the morta is aligned vertically with the bowl, presenting a ribbed effect, especially along the abbreviated shank, and rising perfectly up the bowl to the very wide, inclined rim. There's endless tactile feedback in this pipe, in light weight, but with a massive appearance.
