When it comes to stemwork and intriguing color palettes, Chris Askwith is really the artisan to watch. Whether it's canary-yellow, cool lilac, or the caramel-pinstriped pattern you see here, you can find a variety of colorful, striking stem types dressing Chris's range of classic shapes. He's also quite skilled at working with alternative mediums; in fact, we've likely received just as many Askwith pipes fashioned out of morta as those crafted from briar. This Pencil Shank Billiard is one of them, featuring a sandblasted morta stummel paired to that aforementioned caramel-and-cream colored, polyester mouthpiece — making for a rather pastoral presentation of this rather modernist and streamlined take on the old classic.
