About This Pipe
Bill Ashton-Taylor got his start making pipes for Dunhill, but after mastering the craft, realized he needed to set out on his own, so he founded the British marque, Ashton. Bill passed away in 2009, but pipe maker Jimmy Craig proudly carries on the Ashton name. This Pot by Ashton features a willowy shank-and-stem arrangement, the slim shank and the elongated stem manifesting a sleek look in profile. However, at the fore, the bowl is stout and muscular, offering a dramatic contrast to the lightweight character of the shank and stem. Additionally, the stummel is dressed in Ashton's stunning Old Church sandblast, highlighting growth rings and wiry flame grain in a warm stain, while a silver band at the junction adds an elegant dose of flash.
