About This Pipe
The Roveras of Ardor have consistently displayed a unique, playful shaping style that, in line with the Italian Neoclassical tradition, places emphasis on the bowl. Here we see that in full effect, with one of the workshop's renditions of the paneled Billiard, something we don't see too often from them, making this a rather rare piece. The bowl rises to just under two inches in height, with an appropriately capacious chamber held inside its thick, insulating walls, and showcases crisp, octagonal paneling all around. The shank has been compressed vertically, resulting in a handsome ovoid shape that complements its panel along the underside. The stummel wears a smooth, walnut-hued finish, revealing lovely grain all around the bowl.
