About This Pipe
The first thing to grab me about this bent Egg from our very own Adam Davidson, apart from the fine grain surrounding the bowl, is the attention paid to the long, bowing line that runs from the rim, along the fore to the smoothly rounded base, and below the extremely stout shank to the boxwood accent. As an element, it's simultaneously a contrast to the much sharper lines along the top, thanks to the forward cant of the bowl and sloped rim, and a complement to (or complemented by) the sliver of a saddle stem protruding from the shank face.
