About This Pipe
Micah "Yeti" Cryder is an American pipe artisan currently living and working in Montana. He is known for his use of organic shaping and unique accents, most often using Bakelite. As is common within American artisan pipe design, many of his pieces display a Danish influence, including this Strawberry. As the title suggests, this piece sits like a statue on an integrated pedestal connecting the heel and shank of the pipe. The bowl itself resembles the pipe's namesake, with walls flaring toward a plateau-crowned rim. A tight-knit transition gives way to a similarly flaring shank accented with brass at its base. A slender saddle stem hand-cut from vulcanite protrudes from the metallic accent, its ebony coloration adding enough contrast to distinguish Cryder's stunning Serpentine Green finish — the result of years of fine-tuning and experimentation and arguably the best green-hued finish in the industry.
