Sandblasted Long Shank Acorn with Mammoth (477) Tobacco Pipe

This Long Shank Acorn is something of the counterpoint to the broad, smooth-stained Acorn shape in this same batch of Yeti pipes. In just about every way possible, except for the shape itself, this piece seems to stylistically "zig" where that one "zags." Tight, succinct control is foregone here for elongated languidness, broad plumpness for sprawling slimness, and smooth, warm stain for brilliantly well-defined, yet still understated sandblasted texture. Said treatment here served to coax an awesome spread of concentrically stacked ring-grain, stained very dark, complemented by a kiss of smoldering contrast at the bowl's inner-rim, framed by the lightest crown of undulating plateau. A creamy accent ring of genuine mammoth pairs handsomely with the dark briar, and the slightly more conical saddle-stem base echos the bullet-like form of the bowl up front. Quite a neat piece.
