About This Pipe
With his playful style and young age, it would be easy to think that Micah "Yeti" Cryder would have a hard time finding the right 'fit' within the world of pipe making. Fortunately, he does have the benefit of possessing superlative skill and talent, allowing him to swiftly rise to become one of the preeminent young carvers of the American scene.
Continuously varying his style from piece to piece, Micah has here presented us with this energetic, compact Tomato. His precise attention to detail is on full display: a light, but undeniably rich sandblast highlights a crisp and perfectly oriented grain pattern, and the smoothly polished rim and complementing polished/plateaued shank end result in a composition that could readily pass for the work of an artisan with many more years (and vastly more experience) under their belt than Mr. Cryder. A phenomenal piece.
