About This Pipe
Danish influence can be easy to spot, and in this Dublin from Scott Thile, it's particularly standout. A broad rim tapers easily to the transition, while three knuckles of bamboo shank extension provide an organic sense of style, as well as a clean, crisp touch to an otherwise dark palette. As for the bowl, it's been finished in a low-profile, dark sandblast, while the thick rim has been polished smooth and stained in a lighter color, offering up a sea of tight birdseye to create an extra touch of visual interest. It brings to mind some of those pieces from Danish carvers of old, while maintaining Scott's unique style in its upright posture and tight-knit presentation.
