A striking and creative interpretation of the bent Dublin by Jerry Zenn, this piece combines creative shaping elements, diverse texture, and alternative materials all in a compact package for added convenience and light weight. The bowl design resembles a previous piece from the Taiwanese carver — the underside of the shank melding seamlessly with the heel and extending through the bowl's lower fore to create a subtle, pointed lip in profile. Such a design cue matches the outward flicking shaping of the rim, delineated by a ridgeline between the bowl's flanks and the domed rim. Zenn has, then, further accentuated those motifs in this pipe's finish: The rim and underside are rendered smooth, while the sides of the bowl wear a low-profile sandblast. The diverse textures contrast each other; however, Jerry maintains a consistent color palette to unite the entire composition.

Initiating the bowl's forward-urging posture and the dynamism of the protruding heel is the shank's curling horn extension. Diamond of cross section, like a Bulldog's shank, the horn accent tapers toward the bowl, its rigid lines continuing through the lower portion for added structure and a sleek-lined, almost aerodynamic motif. Such elements cohere the design as a whole, and the piece of horn used is a stunning shade of dark ebony that draws attention and diverts light in a gorgeous display. The piece is topped off by a striking vulcanite mouthpiece of honey mustard hue, complementing the stummel's ruddy stain but contrasting the horn's dark shade.
