Sandblasted Tomato (Shell) (6A) Tobacco Pipe

A close examination of the details of this piece from Giacomo reveals an intricate and remarkably executed high-grade pipe. With a reddish stain and low profile sandblast, the grain is fairly consistent and evident from every angle in concentric lines of growth rings.The rim is smooth and polished, with a downward angle so tobacco tends to fall into the bowl instead of out. The end of the shank is likewise smooth, with lines of grain running vertically. The stem is short and with a low profile saddle configuration, so in silhouette the pipe's presence is mainly forward. Plump and hand-filling, it's comfortable to hold, and sits on a surface pretty easily.
