About This Pipe
Smooth and firm of curves and stance, this Shalosky bent Egg strikes a neat and clean balance between shapeliness and tautness — as well as in the matter of the proportions of bowl, shank, and stem. In contrast to the very smooth nature of the form, Bill went with a sandblast for the finish, which does seem to have been the right choice for the briar given the ring grain that came out of it. Speaking of contrast, there's also the deft touch of an accent of pale antler, its slim and simple form working well between the black finish of the briar and the dark cumberland of the stem.
