About This Pipe Tobacco

Rajah's Court from Cornell and Diehl is a Latakia, Turkish, red Virginia, and bright Virginia flake. In the same genre as Dunhill's Durbar as sold in years' gone by in their London store when you could actually still buy tobacco there.

I somehow missed this for awhile but it's absolutely a great replacement for my much loved Durbar. Can't recommend it enough! Well done C&D.

These production blends usually disappoint when they're freshly opened, requiring at least a month or two of fermentation in the mason jar, but this one was very good right out of the tin. I liked it from the first bowl. The Orientals are very forward, taking center stage, giving lots of spice and a pleasant tingle on the lips and tongue. I love it when Oriental leaf does that. Smooth, and creamy. Leather like, earthy and perfectly balanced. This blend lights well, burns slow, satisfies throughly. This reminds me a lot of an old Dunhill blend by the name of Durbar. Buttered toast, as in real butter, and homemade bread toast.
