While the Oliva family has boasted a tobacco-growing tradition since 1886, they didn't begin producing their own cigars until 1995 when Gilberto Oliva and his son Gilberto Jr. founded Oliva Cigar Company. The Gilberto Reserva line was introduced in 2017 in honor of the family's patriarch, celebrating his legacy with two distinctive blends. The Gilberto Reserva Blanc version offered here showcases an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper with an Ecuadorian binder and Nicaraguan fillers for a smooth and creamy smoke, while the Gilberto Reserva version trades the Connecticut wrapper for one of Sumatran leaf.
