La Imperiosa Corona Gorda Cigar (5.7 x 46)

The La Imperiosa line from Crowned Heads is, in essence, the regular production series version of their Las Calaveras Edición Limitada 2014 line which took the cigar world by storm upon its release. To keep the incredibly well-received blend alive, the Nashville-based company welcomed La Imperiosa to their lineup.

Made by My Father Cigars in Estelí, Nicaragua, these sticks differ slightly from Las Calaveras both in vitolas offered and in that they're wrapped in an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro leaf instead of the Mexican San Andrés wrapper used for Las Calaveras. Inside, though, you'll still find Nicaraguan binder and long-filler tobaccos, resulting in a fairly full-bodied smoke that's characterized by evolving flavors of red pepper, dark fruit, and earthy notes.
