A refined and stately desktop tobacco jar, this distinctive accessory features a hexagonal design wrapped in supple leather with a rich oxblood finish. Like its Grafton counterparts, it's constructed with an inner lining of hardened elastomer, tested to ensure an air-tight seal and keep tobacco fresh, and this Sherlock Holmes model is topped with a metal handle depicting Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes smoking a Peterson "4AB" shape.

As others have stated it isn’t exactly air tight. However I fill this 2/3 full and within the week smoke the jar. By mid week it’s perfect moisture to smoke and by end of week it isn’t a problem. Long term storage not the best idea but as a next up to smoke tobacco jar. A1.

Great, with a Caveat

ck Holmes-themed and I’d buy a mousetrap if it had Holmes and/or Watson on it.
Here’s the caveat: it’s not an air-tight tobacco jar. The description says that it is but that’s not been my experience and I see that’s not been the experience of some of the other reviewers. If you’re putting tobacco in here you should be putting one of the little tobacco pouch humidifier ‘coins’ (which is a good tip for even truly air-tight containers, because it’s always possible that something that was air-tight gets knocked off onto the floor or because your house gets really cold in the winter/hot and humid during the summer and it messes with the seal. Those little ‘coins’ are cheap and worth every penny IMHO.) that you can buy here and at your local B&M tobacconist to keep the tobacco from drying out.
Other than that it’s a lovely little tobacco jar that I keep on my nightstand for when I’m smoking my last pipe of the day before sleep comes for me. I like it a lot, it holds a good amount of tobacco, and if you put a humidifier ‘coin’ in there it will keep your tobacco fresh and tasty.
And if you don’t want yours, I’ll be happy to take it off of your hands; just ship it to me here in Maryland....Read More

I was gifted one of these and it is nicely made but to narrow for getting your pipe and fingers in it to pack a good bowl, should be wider than it is tall, over priced for its size.
