If even bristled pipe cleaners aren't bristly enough, for those more thorough cleaning jobs there's bristled brushes like these by Neerup, made of stainless steel wire entwined with stiff nylon, you guessed it, bristles. Unlike pipe cleaners they're re-usable as well, plus they come in several different sizes to specifically suit the cleaning out of draft-holes and stems, mortises, or chambers.

I’ve for the most part, forgotten about using pipe cleaners thanks to these. I am not a fan of the lint pipe cleaners and paper towels leave. Nice multi pack will last me a while, but I’ll definitely come back for more.

The bristles are nice and firm and work really well getting the gunk out of the shank and I also use them on the bowl of my meerschaum.

Great to have! Speeds up the cleaning process when cleaners just don’t seem to do it.

Dip in a bit of alcohol and after using some cleaners a few times, go for it. These helps get the voids the cleaners don’t touch and speeds the process up a bit. The price is good compared to everywhere I’ve searched too.

Having to clean and restore dozens if not hundreds of estate pipes, I needed a tool that would hold up over multiple uses. These little guys worked so well I immediately ordered more. After using a pipe cleaner or even a bristle cleaner, sometimes dipped in alcohol, I would run these through afterwards and give the shank or stem a few thrusts. Like a charm it pulled out any remaining gunk and build up and the next cleaners went through without a mark.
