While C&D Winchester is my everyday favorite, I can confidently say that Crimson Shadow is going to be my trusted sidearm. This blend is magnificent in its simplicity. It has a perfectly balanced semi-sweetness and burns perfectly to the bottom of the bowl. The sweetness lingers on the tongue in the best way long after the bowl is finished. This stuff is fantastic on it's own, a must try. But when a little is mixed into pretty much any other base blend, it softens any harshness, burns cooler, and increases burn quality. Perfect for taming other stubborn tobaccos. It's also great for stretching the life of more expensive blends by adding volume without negatively altering flavor. Overall, I didn't know what to expect out of this tobacco. The note on my first smell reminded me of Briar Fox. The tobacco was at the perfect moisture level straight out of the bag. It packed well and burned most of the way through with some tamping and only one relight. The Virginia is forward in this tobacco and has a very sweet earthy taste. I enjoyed it from the start to the finish and will most likely keep this around. I didn't catch a topper or casing, but I was paying attention to the delightful tobacco flavors over anything. If you like a good sweet Virginia with some earthy flavors intertwined give this one a whirl. Stay blessed and enjoy the smoke....Read More
