Rattray's - Mary Smooth Light (163) (9mm)
Beautiful and Smokes Great
Got this at a trunk sale with Joe from Smoking Pipes. Looking for a smaller bowl with a 9mm filter. The grain is amazing and it really smokes nice. Dorchester was delicious in it.

Really Interesting
I was turned off by the descriptions so I held off on this. Now I bought five tins. Yes, this is aromatic in the sense that Lakeland blends and Erinmore Flake are. I wouldn't say it's lightly aromatic but it's not aromatic in the American style. It's actually fascinating and I think unique. It's closer in flavor and smell to church incense than it is to Lakeland essence. The smell carries through to the taste and never fades. I find that toppings and casings tend to burn off but this doesn't. It makes me think that it's actually part of the orientals used. And if you're looking for a C&D style Oriental this is not. This is a wonderful Summer blend.

Great Smoker - Beautiful Pipe
Generous bowl. This pipe absolutely loves HU Edward G. Wow, a nirvana smoke every time. I think the wider bowl does well with the diverse mix of tobacco cuts in that blend. Highly recommend this with a tin of Edward G.

A Nice Blend
Smells like a fine classic burley blend. Definitely some type of light topping. The perique is not noticeable. It's an enjoyable lightly aromatic blend. Pretty much is as described. If it sounds good to you, try it. Interesting cut btw with some ribbon and chunks from a rubbed out flake.

Will not light a pipe.
I had to replace the original flint with a new Zippo flint. Now that it lights reliably, the flame will not bend down to go into a pipe bowl. I love the idea and I love the sealed fuel container. I filled it up and it lasted a week when a regular Zippo only holds fuel for about 3 days. But I'm just going to give it away to somebody who smokes cigarettes.
Ashton - Gold Rush 50g
Really Good
There are bad Virginias and great Virginias, this is a really good Virginia. It smokes easily and will surprise you with a rich fruit flavor in the second half of the bowl. I reach for this when I want any easy smoking Virginia that I don't need to rub out. Much better than similarly priced American Virginias.
Newminster - No. 400 Superior Navy Flake
Really solid Virginia
Great grass and hay flavor, easy to smoke, by far my favorite anytime Virginia. I stopped at four stars because I haven't coaxed much complexity of it, but I'm buying a half pound more.

One of my go to holiday blends
A very well done aromatic. I don't smoke a lot of them. I reserve this for the holidays. Has a hint of cherry to me.
