Nørding - Pointer 2oz
An Excellent Bright / Red Virginia Blend
It has all the notes of brighter virginia's, mixed perfectly with the red virginia's. Tart and citrusy, creamy, bready, rich and deep caramel sweetness, hay, slight sweet oak / cedar flavor that is just great and wonderful. Well done!

Cornell & Diehl - Yorktown 2oz
A really unique, and wonderful blend
Sweet, rich, deep, and a good balance of red / stewed fruit and bread notes. If you are a fan of C&D virginia's, or trying to find their best of the lot, this one deserves to be in your list.

Low Country - Edisto 2oz
A beautiful red virginia blend.
I am a fan of C&D virginias, and this one deserves a try. A really nice semi-sweet, deep fruit / earth, deep baking spices / bread, dark rich chocolate, finishes off with some nice minimal / background natural pepper I sense with some red virginias. If you like C&D's style of virginia's, this one is worth a try and cellaring some. It does feel like a cousin of Carolina Red Flake, but I wouldn't call it the same grade or close match. Nontheless, it's readily available and it's really good.

Warped - The Red Hunt 2oz
Strong, Boozy Cherry / Chocolate Aro
Reading about this blend in different forums, I get the idea that this blend has perhaps changed from a natural Vaper with orientals blend into a full fledge aromatic. Unfortunatly, what I got is the latter version and it isn't good. I smoke aro's and do like them, but this one feels all wrong.

Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - Fathers, Friends & Fire Batch 002 Virginia Perique Flake 2oz
Am I going crazy?
Seeing all the positive reviews makes me doubt my own tastebuds. This is a borboun / some sort of fruit liquour aromatic / strong topping. I guess if you have a strong pallet or can sense topping easily, this one is for sure topped with something strong that is unlike many C&D's other blends, and it does translate to taste, not just a tin aroma. I'll give it a few weeks of rest in a jar and try this blend again.

Cornell & Diehl - Crooner 2oz
Cinnamon toast crunch in a pipe. Wonderful.
Deer Tongue is something else. It tastes like a naturally sweet vanilla and some floral, tea notes. The burley is nutty, earthy, and savory. The smell is uncanny to Cinnamon toast crunch. I could swear you could blindfold me, and put the cereal box side to side with this and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Tastes like it after smoking it for a while, you have to get used to the blend until you fully appreciate it. It really is wonderful, and my only complaint is I wish they increased the deer tongue. I use a wider bowl to capture some more deer tongue in the mix, while smaller bowls tend to be more inconsistent and capturing mostly burley and whims of deer tongue. if you like aromatics, and don't fancy the chemically taste some have, this blend is a no brainer must try. The deer tongue is naturally a very aromatic and beautiful leaf, and this blend serves it well.

Drew Estate - Deadwood Leather Rose Petite Corona
Great sweet stick. But nothing more.
It is a really nice sweet, maduro stick. Sweetened tip with milk chocolate and nutty / oak and creamy flavor (bombs). Not complex by any means, and pretty overpriced. But it is unique, and it is really good. If you are looking for a complex and nuanced stick, this is the last one to check. If you are looking for a really good, sweet, simple yet flavorful stick, then you found it. My only problem is with the price and on the bigger size versions it may get pretty boring halfway in. It is overpriced by 2-3 dollars on each stick, but I am assuming it is to counteract the demand for it.

H. Upmann - 1844 Añejo Robusto
Quality, smooth, sweet, and creamy.
This cigar is as smooth as a good Connecticut shade cigar, but with a habano wrapper. It has a open draw and a good overall construction. Taste is sweet, light habano with abundance of creaminess and small wimps of woods and dark pepper. Second third develops some zest flavors, but remains constantly creamy. Last third is overshadowed creaminess, sweet tobacco and reminiscent of a good milk chocolate consistency. Not complex by any means, but the flavors are quality.

Romeo y Julieta - 1875 Petite Bully (6 Pack)
Every single one was plugged.
I can’t believe the fact that every single cigar in the pack was plugged. There isn’t a review. You can not smoke this, even if you had a tool ( I have the perfecdraw) you nearly need to do a full on surgery to unplug them. And even then, you’ll lose so much tobacco at the last third it is practically not worth the whole thing. Worst experience on a cigar till this date.

H. Upmann - 1844 Reserve Aperitifs (6 Pack)
Surprised by how overall good it is.
Lets get the negatives away. The construction is ok. In some of sticks the wrapper loosened and unwrapped a little bit around the cap, and in one it was a little restricted draw wise. I don't believe you need a cutter for it. I just peel a little of the tobacco on top, by either squeezing the cap or pinching it off. It is made to be a on the go miniature cigar. The taste is quality, hints of leather, nuts, oak, and coffee grounds with a little spice on the retrohale that is satisfying. at the second half, it got a little stronger with more earthy notes dominating the stick. It isn't complex or a very transitional cigar, but it has a decent, well rounded flavour. The body is light-medium with some good nicotine kick. It lasted me about an hour of smoking it slowly, and mostly no double puffs, only when necessary to bring out the flavours. I can see that if you treat it like any other cigar, this could last around 25-40 mins Max. overall, This is good for the price, and considering only the flavour, it may be excellent for the price.

United Cigar - Maduro Pencils
Decent flavor and a little too fragile.
Value wise, it was well worth it just beware of how thin it is. It is as fragile as they come.

Recent production woes
I bought this around a year ago and was very impressed with the flavor of the stick for such a great price. About 2 weeks ago my shipment arrived with 3 cigars and each one of them tasted very acrid. I thought I had something wrong with my taste buds or maybe I have eaten that something that day that messed my taste buds up, but after trying other cigars and coming back to my remaining sticks, I realized the problem was from the cigars themselves. My rating reflects what I tried recently, and hopefully this issue isn't re-occurring since this stick was really good back then.

Cornell & Diehl - From Beyond 2oz
Extraordinary Blend. No exaggeration
Hands down the best english blend I have ever tasted. The Turkish Latakia is sweet and floral, unlike any Cyprian latakia I've ever tasted. It is rather sweet and settle than a "bomb"to your palate like the usual latakia blends. This blend is what Latakia, in my head, should taste like. Sweet, settle, and blends in with the other components rather than be its own star at all times. combined with the orientals, it feels more balanced, and some would call it a straight up balkan blend. I can see that. My suspicions would be that the Latakia is atypically sweet and floral, it really compliments the orientals rather than shun it to a supporting role. The perique adds plums and spice to the floral and sweet blend, and the addition of burley really undertones the whole experience with nutty flavors. The red Virginia's wraps the whole blend into this beautiful, dark, sweet, fruity, spicy, and very floral woodsy blend. I hope Turkish Latakia becomes the next big thing, or at the very least, we can see more of it in small batch blends seasonally.

Seattle Pipe Club - Wild Man 2oz
A great oriental forward blend.
Savory, oriental forward and tasty blend. The inconsistency in which component leads at times is evident, but I think it adds character to the blend rather than make it unhinged. The components are top notch, and tastes like a Seattle pipe club blend. Top Quality.

Low Country - Guendalose 2oz
Daily Cigar Leaf Blend. Phenomenal.
If you want a daily cigar leaf blend with notes of bright / red Virginia sweetness intermingling together without taking the spotlight, and orientals adding a bready, floral, and savory taste with a spicy, fruity essence of a perique interwind with the earthy, woody, leathery cigar leaf then this is the blend. It isn't a one star show, it is the whole that is more than the sum of its parts. My first review on this website, and this blend deserves the recognition that off well renowned blends. This is an example of how to make a cigar leaf blend without making it either the star, or the adding latakia, but making it a part of the whole blend. I also believe it has great potential for aging.
