Killer Bee has been a go-to for me lately, and to put it simply, it’s because it’s really damn good. I’ve smoked plenty of these over the last decade, and the construction has always been flawless. The flavor is what keeps drawing me back — it reminds me of warm, floral spices like clove, cardamom, and pink peppercorn, layered over rich amber wood and a bright honey-like sweetness. Everything mixes together into a profile that’s both wildly unique and memorable. It’s one of those cigars that intrigues me every single time I light one up.

Some years ago, this was a staple for me. For whatever reason, I drifted away, and recently, I came across the Killer Bee again. I’m blown away that I ever left this cigar alone. Construction is impeccable, flavor is in-your-face, but delicious. I taste a bold, earthy profile overall, accented by bright, zesty spices, medium-roast coffee, and a unique, fermented sweetness. Perfect pairing for a more interestingly processed coffee in the afternoon. Like everything in the BLTC lineup, this is worth buying a handful.

La Flor Dominicana Oro is genuinely intriguing - a true “best of both worlds” blend. The signature Dominican floral sweetness is front and center, layered with warming notes from the Nicaraguan Sungrown wrapper. That subtle, rich spice beautifully complements the brighter, lively notes of the Dominican binder and filler. Complex, flawlessly constructed, and a masterclass of expert blending. An all-around golden experience.

HU - Nashville County 100g
Top Burley Blend
Sometimes, only a good ol’ Burley blend will scratch the itch - when that moment strikes, Nashville County hits all the right notes. Rich cocoa and molasses take center stage, giving a nostalgic nod to blends of old. The Burley is perfectly complemented by the Virginia sweetness, and just when things might get too mellow, a dash of Perique spices it up. Although I'm not typically a fan of licorice, I apparently find it extremely appealing in a tobacco blend. The topping is subtle, yet adds an nuanced flavor, especially on the retrohale. This one’s firmly planted in my regular rotation, and I don’t see that changing anytime soon.

As a creature of habit, I only smoke a handful of blends regularly. That said, after the first bowl, I knew this was something that I will revisit time and time again. Smoky, rich, and spicy, yet nuanced with sweetness and character from the Virginias and Orientals, it’s a blend that, simply put, is fun to smoke.
