Stands & Pouches - Neal Yarm 7 Pipe Stand - Tilt Head Walnut with Maple Burl Strip
Well Made, But...
This is my first Neal Yarm stand (actually my first pipe stand, period) and I was really drawn to the aesthetic. Simple but elegant and it looked well made. When I received it, I appreciated the craftsmanship of it, but I was a little perplexed as to why it was unfinished. The wood itself is pretty, but it has barely been sanded and the wood is a little rough in areas. And there is no finish whatsoever on the stand. It is just bare wood. I can now see in the picture that the stand is unfinished, but mine is even more so. It won't take me any time to run some steel wool over it to smooth it out and put a couple of coats of linseed oil on it, but I was expecting that to have already been done. The pricing isn't outrageous for a piece like this, but even a cheap Decatur pipe stand is finished and smooth. Otherwise, it is a well made stand and the wood is very pretty. It fits all the pipes that I wanted to display. I have two Brandy shapes that are a little snug next to each other, but they still fit nicely.

My Favorite Pipe Accessory
This little pipe cleaner holder is my favorite accessory that I have. It keeps my cleaners clean, dry and in shape. I can throw this in my pipe roll, in my carry-on or tuck into my back pocket and my cleaners will be ready for service. Craftsmanship is top-notch and for this price, it is a little piece of luxury that adds a touch of class. I will probably get a couple more so I can keep one in the car, one at home and one in my pipe case.
